Atlin
is blessed with excellent services given the size of our community and the
lack of a municipal government.
Through
the generous efforts of community volunteers and the diverse skills of local
residents, Atlin does provide a wide variety of government and private services.
The
Atlin Provincial Courthouse was built in 1900. The total cost for building
and furniture was $9248.22. The building was moved to its present location
in 1956. From 1967 to 1973 it was used as a private residence and gallery.
The Atlin Historical Society acquired the building in 1973 with the help of
the BC government. It now houses the provincial court, the Northern Lights
College and the local Library.
